Although I have been in the Web industry pretty much as long as there has been one, I have never, up until now, been tempted towards personal exhibitionism in this medium. The whole Personal Home Page thing seems so, I dunno, 1992?

But my as-yet-unmet Web friend Trey , when I began to look for online writer's workshops and communities, told me to start an online writing journal. So I did.

I spent the summer of 2000 daydreaming about Clarion and reading the wonderful online journals of people there. In the process I discovered this wonderful subculture of (mostly speculative) fiction writers with journals on-line (much of it based around the excellent writer's e-magazine Speculations). They seemed like such neat people. And, as my friend down at the Literaturhaus Basel says, "writing can be such a lonely thing."
